Was looking for info on the next S8 and RS6 and happened on this. I will be in Miami this weekend so will miss the intro on Nov. 30, but if anyone is there would appreciate photos of the D4. The photo in the link is better than renderings I have seen so far. Reason for looking into the next RS6 and S8 is that I drove the Panamera the other day and my A8 sport, as fabulous a car that it is can't match the excitement of driving the Panamera, as ungainly as it lookd from the outside.

The exhaust system on the A8L W12 consists four tailpipes but al low engine speeds only two are active. The other two open when full throttle is actuated.

My question is can the flaps in the exhaust be made to remain open all of the time.....in effect increasing the exhaust note :o)

I have to pull the key out of the ignition before reinserting it and then it turns over w/no issue.

Over the past week I noticed that my TCS light is coming on randomly while driving. The system will not allow me to re-engage the TCS vis-a-vis the button on the console; I have to turn off the car and restart it in order to have the TCS operational again.

I've noticed this seems to correlate to when I'm either on the throttle hard OR I'm in "stop and go" and there is a lot of shifting going on. However as I was pulling into my garage today it randomly came on again.

What could this be?

Can't see any obstructions, nothing seems to be out of place, but it sticks about a 1/4" from closed, then it'll re open itself. In a nutshell, I was hit by a guy running a red light, thankfully injuries were nil and damage fairly light. The front passenger fender needs replacing, a 19" turbine wheel needs either replacing or refinishing and the ACC got knocked out of alignment.

The other driver admitted liability so I'm going through his insurance co. They're trying to steer me to a regular body shop by refusing to pay the additional hourly rate charged by the certified bodyshop. They're also contesting realignment of the ACC radar saying they'll only pay if the car needs a rear wheel thrust alignment.
