I tried three times to reset the service ling with the automatic buttom but it failed to work. My temp gauge stopped working out of no where and I pulled the 17704 code. Figured it was the temp sensor that is so conveniently by the firewall. I had previous replaced to a 'green top' sensor about 30K miles ago and figure that was the issue (temp sensor not working, fan running ALL the time).

Install the new sensor, cleared the codes, and fired it back up. Still no movement on the temp sensor and the fan still runs. I have STFA and found it could possible be the sensor on the driver's side of the radiator, but those results are for B5's.

Would failure of that sensor cause my problems? Is there something else I should check before spending $50 at the dealer? Is there another possible sensor beyond the 'green top' and this one?

The front wiper intermediate "adaptive" speed feels annoying fast, even if I turn the little switch back and forth, it slows down for a moment and then speeds up again (I just don't need that much wiping with that kind of rain).

The first problem is... I have two problems.

The first problem is with one of my 2 key remotes. One works and the other only locks and unlocks the door by putting the key in but not by pressing the remote buttons. When any of the buttons are pressed, the led on the remote blinks 4 times. The key also won't start the car.

My second problem is the Keyless Start doesn't work when I have either key. The car will go to stage 1 but the ignition will not start. The Keyless Stop works fine.

I was wondering if anyone ran across a coding that would allow you to change the Audi Drive Select (ADS) default from "Auto" to one of the other settings like "Individual" when you start the car? It's not a big issue to hit the button twice to get to Individual every time, but it sure would be nice if I could just default it to a different setting with vag-com.

Seems like my drivers side headlight assembly in my 06 Audi A6 3.2 has failed. Everytime I start the car I get a warning saying adaptive headlights is not working.

Took it to the dealer and he saying the controller module inside the headlight assembly is bad and the entire assembly has to be replaced cause its one piece. $1400 for a headlight. So I said I dont need adaptive headlights that bad. He said there is no way to disable the code, which I find hard to believe.

I was wondering if one can just disable adaptive headlights via the VAG COM and call it a day and I dont have to see the warning everytime I start the car.

PS, my extended warranty company also denied replacing it cause they said no coverage covers the headlight assembly.

OK, I am an 06 A4 owner that has never felt the need to mess with my onboard computer. However in looking at the 2010 A4 there are a couple of things that it looks might be interesting to do.

I am looking at a Premium Plus with Navigation. I saw some lists that seemed to indicate that I could enable the following things via VAG-COM, can anyone verify this form my model and specs?

1: Seat and mirror memory. It seemed that this could be turned on to work linked to the key (I will have the standard key not the fancy keep in your pocket key). I guess there are no memory buttons for this, but if I could tie them to the key that would be awesome. Do they just adjust as soon as the key is inserted?

2: Passenger mirror dipping when reverse is engaged. My car does this now, will I be able to enable this on the new one?

It's the A6 2005 3.2 model. After pulling codes from the car and did some research online, I found:

I'm hoping if there is a way I can try to "perform basic setting" first before actually replacing the the sensor. Could someone tell me how to do it? I'm thinking of the adaptation option but truly have no idea what it is.
Also, some said G201 is a sensor itself, some said it's part of the ABC module.
