The extended warranty was finally up on my Allroad so it had to go. I have three 3 Dunlop Winter Sport M3 (225/R17) tires available for the best offer if anyone is interested. They are in good shape and have less than 10k miles of use on them (one season). The 4th tire had a cut in the sidewall so I trashed it. PM me if interested.

TWO socials coming up in the next few weeks:

Red Hook Brewery outside of Portsmouth NH THURSDAY Nov 19, 7:PM

John Harvard Brewhouse, Framingham MA THURSDAY Dec 3, 7:PM

Why so close? Well, what better way to cope with the holidays then to talk parts and mods with your fellow Audi enthusiasts.

Also, your local Audi chapter NAAClub.org is also encouraging members (and non-members by becoming members ~ $44) to get involved with the running of your club.

Its ELECTIONS season, and part of the criteria is getting signatures (12) from club members for candidates to run in the elections.

How do you get 12 NAAC members signatures? Well we are going to help you out! SOCIAL events like dinners and pub visits just happen to be attended by card carryin' members. So come out and talk cars, parts, track events and we'll sign your nomination papers if you decide to run in our elections.

Candidate nominations are due by December 9, that's less than 30 days, so we're going to hold TWO social event dinners to assist those looking to run.

Here's what you need to do to run:

1. Be an NAAC / ACNA member.
2. Go to our web site: http://www.naaclub.org/ and print out the Nominations form.
3. Come to the social dinners Nov 19 and/or Dec 3 and get your signatures!

4. Deliver the Nomination signatures form to our club president by Dec 9. Come to the socials and we can even help deliver them to the president for you..........

PRESTO ! that's it!

See you there, RSVP for the social dinner so we can have a chair waiting for you at the tables! Open to NAAC members and QW / AW and Audi enthusiasts too!

* INFO and Nominations procedures & form:

Good Craftmenship At STATUS in Londonderry, NH

After struggling with service after I purchased...

After struggling with service after I purchased my car between IRA service department and a locally recommended shop, I finally decided to go out of my comfort zone for service on my B7 A4, and took a drive up(25 Miles) to Londonderry, NH to have Tony from Status Auto Service do some work on my car. After extensive research and reading numerous posting here in AW, BostonAudi and also AudiZine, and now having experience it myself I am officially “on the van wagon” together with the numerous positive posts I have read on this forum about the quality of work and service these gentlemen provides. If I was allowed a statement to describe my experience, I would state that “is honorable to see some one take so much pride and responsibility in their work and craft, plus his price was very fair”.

I want to thank you all the members that have posted their experience with this independent Audi specialist. I read the good and bad experiences, and one definitely outweighs the other. For those interested in an independent shop in the southern NH/ MA border or Merrimack valley, I highly recommend you stop by STATUS to check out Tony’s services.

Feel free to do a search on independent shops in New England, Boston, NH area you will find plenty of material rating Tony among the best and more respect in this region.

Ron Wainwright (ITSAV8) Warning

Long story short Ron Wainwright stole my car. I...

Long story short Ron Wainwright stole my car. I sold him my V8 over 4 years ago and he has been stringing me along since saying “the check is in the mail.” He didn’t have the money at the time, but based on his reputation on these forums, I trusted him to pay me. Well, after 4 years of waiting and excuses saying he’s between jobs, he has car problems, etc… I’ve had it, and it is time to warn everyone else about him. Just so you know what a person he is, he left his wife and his two children for another woman and is refusing to pay child support. I’ve been in touch with his wife (who came and picked up the car with him) and she informed me he never intended to pay me and that he has send bad parts or not sent parts so some people on these forums. I realize that some of you have had good experiences with him, but please don’t deal with him in the future, especially buying or selling any parts. Just stick to getting Audi advice from him. DON’T BUY or SELL anything from Ron Wainwright (ITSAV8) since it may be a stolen part from my car.

if so, just curious if you've passed emissions...

if so, just curious if you've passed emissions with them? i had a P0421 code for a while, so i had all four o2 sensors replaced as a couple were bad. my indie said there was a reflash to increase the warm up time, and if the CEL comes on again that may need to be done, so a couple days after the o2 install, the cel came on again. contacted dealer about it and they said reflash would overwrite any electronic tuning i've had done, (sent APR my ecu few years ago) and would cost $220. i asked apr if this was true, and they said since i sent them my ecu, i have a hard chip installed so the dealer wouldn't be able to reflash the update, if they tried, they'd probably get a cel for an incomplete reflash. so now my question is how do i get rid of the CEL - replace the cat - as i've heard might be the fix for that code? if that is the solution, and since oem cats are fairly expensive, i thought maybe i would install piggies and a new catback exhaust (was thinking Billy Boat), if i do this, will i pass emissions in CT? my cats are over 8 years old, so i'm past the warranty on them (if they are indeed bad) and i've heard varying opinions on universal cats, so it seems doing piggies would be an economical way of fixing it - only if it passes emissions of course.....anyone out there with experience?

Hey ya'll...not a whole lot of posts here, but I was pretty active on Audiforums a few years ago. I'm fairly new to Boston and still trying to get a go-to mechanic.

I thought I had one in Mings. Tonight, I got quoted $500+ for the flex pipe connecting to the Cat ($500 each side, over a grand for both). Said the pipes can't be bought by Audi individually, so he needs to buy the whole Cat and take the pipes off for replacement.

Maybe that's the "official, by-the-book" procedure..but I thought you could get some generic flex piping for $100-ish, and have a shop weld it on for $50 or so. Am I way off, or is $500 for a flex pipe replacement ridiculously expensive? If i wanted to pay "by the book" prices, I'd go to the dealer in the first place.

I've had one go-round with Lee @ Advanced, might be time to get back at him.
