I went on and checked the injector flows, since there is still no end to the pulsating acceleration/low mileage problem.
So, i checked the flow while attached to the fuel rail and pouring to a container i could measure from and running pump manually. All the flows were pretty much even, but all were too high, about 220cc/min when it should be 173,4cc/min. Then i remembered that previously, when i measured the fuel pressure it was a little bit too high, 67 psi without vacuum and 56 psi with.
So, could this effect the flow that much? I have fpr and fuel pump replaced so should i be checking the return line for restrictions, or something else?
Thanks for any help.

I've got a wrecked 89 100 that I would like to...

I've got a wrecked 89 100 that I would like to transplant the drivetrain into a 1986. I know the electricals are different however I believe I can transplant most of that. How much different is the dash and fuel system? The later system is higher pressure, I believe.

Originally, I was going to repair the 89 Avant however I think it would make more sense to convert the 86 Sedan into an 89 Sedan using the drivetrain parts and replace the interior of the 86 Avant with the 89 Avant.

I know wiring connectors on the seat are probably wired differently however I've got extractor tools and can rewire as required.

So here's the plan:

89 Avant interior to 86 Avant
89 Avant powertrain to 86 Sedan

Crazy or not? By the way, can I remove the sunroof as a unit and transplant it from one car to another?

Okay, so I get the code for the distributor hall...

Okay, so I get the code for the distributor hall sensor (no signal) and once warm the O2 sensor (level exceeded). The O2 error likely stems from the hall error (ECU pulls timing, goes rich, O2 system takes a hit).

Original distributor I bench-tested with a USB o-scope. No signal, okay, makes sense. Swapped another distributor in. I get a square wave from it when cranking the engine with the USB o-scope. But I still get a code, and the other wiring tests check out (1-2 and 2-3 voltages). I also added an additional ground from the driver side (5-8 bank) head to the fender to help alleviate any grounding issues. Every once in a while when the engine is running, the hall code will go away but come right back when I vag-com it.

O2 sensor only has a couple thousand miles on it now, OE replacement (direct plug-in).

Is the ECU hosed? I'm going to put the stock chip (has an Abt copy from a lister) back in and see if it changes anything...

Hello, I'm new here. I hope this is the right forum to ask this question. My daughter has a 1991 V-8 Quattro. The high-beam headlights work but the low-beams do not. There is no power to the low-beam fuses (there are two fuses, one for each light). Where should we look next? We were thinking of swapping out relay 5 to see if it is the problem. But it did not want to pull straight out and we were afraid of breaking it. Is there a trick to pulling out this relay. Any other suggestions on possible causes for this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm finally getting back to the Audis after grad school and marriage. I'm starting with the 20v and the rear brake lines are severely rusted as well as the rear calipers and carriers. Are there any rear brake swaps I can do say from a newer car (maybe A6)? I know I could get some Porsche brakes but I'd like to keep this on a budget for now. I would settle for the stockers if they were in good shape, but thats hard to come by unless buying new.

I need to buy a battery of course. I am out of...

I need to buy a battery of course. I am out of work and broke.

So in time.

this is my issue.

I just purchased a 5000 CS, 88.

I can not get it started. It has a built in bypass someone put in with a toggle switch. The starter sounds like it wants to catch but does not.

Can it be as easy as the starter or is it the funny security system?

Please help if you could.

Updated, it did start after being jumped and run for a good hour. But, when it came to start it back up this is where the issue was.

So ok today i went out and checked the car out.

I found my gremlin. I am not sure what it is. It looks like a spare and it does not match anything from the fuse box cover.

it was sucking 6.3 volts while the car was not even started. and thus draining the battery and the 10 amp fuse was burnt out. No idea what this may be.

I've noticed some loss of coolant lately. Until today, I couldn't find any leak. This morning I had some dripping going on when I looked under the car. It seems to be coming from about halfway back from the front of the motor. It's been a while since I've been under the car, but I don't recall any hoses going back that far. Water pump? It was replaced 30K miles ago.

1990 Audi 100 Help

I've looked all thru this forum and could not...

I've looked all thru this forum and could not find anybody who ran into the same problem I'm having. Currently my 100 is having some issues with the factory alarm, and starting.

When I initially start the car I usually have no problem. I just pump the gas a little while I'm turning the key and it usually starts up with no problem. In the one in ten chance that it fails to start, I do the same thing again and I get nothing. I try the same thing again about five to ten minutes later and it usually starts right up. I just replaced the rotor button cause it was worn and thought that was the issue, however it did not resolve the problem. The distributor cap is only about a year old. When I shut the car off I immediately hear the horn go off but it's not the alarm sounding as it's only one beep.

As far as the alarm goes, it's been acting strange since the starting issue has come into my life, and I'm sure they are linked. Whenever I open one of the doors the alarm will go off. It silences when I put the key in the drivers side door (this is the only door lock that works right now) turn it clockwise and it silences the alarm.

Has anybody ever ran into a problem like this and/or do you have any suggestions as to what I should do.

Thanks,
