Lesson learned the hard way. I didn't address...

Lesson learned the hard way. I didn't address the Pastore chip problem (pre-detonation) in time, and I paid the ultimate price....threw a rod, the motor is toast. I wasnt' even hammering on it seriously, so the damage must have been done over months.

So I am sitting on a black/black S4, 118,000 miles, RS2 turbo, exhaust manifold, injectors, Eibach & billsteins, 993TT brembo front calipers, HID lights, European S4 tail light cluster, fantastic interior, exterior very nice. Everything works (well, except the motor).

1) What is this worth, as is?
2) Does anyone know someone sitting on a nice 20VT motor looking for such a car to put it in?

Where is the icon of the guy smashing his head against the wall? Insert here. Large dunce cap on top.

So endeth a 13+ year love affair with 20VTurbo Audis. Time to try something newer and different for someone with little time to properly attend to such sweet vehicles.

External coolant weep from HG

Just when I thought I fixed all the coolant leaks...

Just when I thought I fixed all the coolant leaks on the 225k UrS4, I noticed a very small coolant weep from the head gasket at the rear passenger side corner, maybe ~ 2inches from the coolant flange. Couple questions for any BTDT folks:

1) What are the chances this is an external leak only? I see no white smoke, no coolant in the oil, etc.

2) Do these things turn into gushers overnight, or do I have some time? After just replacing all the other cooling system bits, I'm not in the right mental state to pull the head. Who knows what else I'll find then?

Can anyone speculate what type of damage could be...

Can anyone speculate what type of damage could be caused to a stock K24 turbo if I've been driving around with a blown 710N? It took me a while to identify diverter valve as the issue and as soon as I did I replaced it. However I was told that it's possible to cause damage to the turbo by driving the car in this condition. So I just wanted to know if there was anything in particular I could be on the lookout for concerning the turbo itself.

Thanks.

RS2 Chipset recommendations / detonation

I have nicely modded '94 S4, full RS 2 mods. ...

I have nicely modded '94 S4, full RS 2 mods. Brought it down from Canada, and ever since I've had it, unless I put in octane booster, I will get detonation a WOT. Hence, I never really open the throttle all the way, unless I have put in octane booster.

I think the chipset is a Lehman, but in any case, I am looking for a good recommendation for a little less aggressive chip, or one that can run on 91 octane super. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

I have a 93 S4 20vt, and it had a power steering...

I have a 93 S4 20vt, and it had a power steering leak so I put a new P.S. pressure line on and ever since there has been a loud growling when I turn the steering.
I had a hose made to save some money and it is high pressure hose, and looks like the same size. The system drained while it was off i've tried bleeding the system( all the ways I could find, running, not running, car jacked, not jacked, tilted, flat ground) and still making the noise.
I read one thread that said it may be a check valve in the return line, but don't know where it is, and can't find a listing for one.
If anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated.
Pretty much sounds like its worn out and rattles when not under load. Long story short, I was told that there is a BMW part that suitable for direct replacement for the audi one, seeing as audi only sells the driveshaft assembly..

Has anyone heard of this and could point me to a part # or other post. Its supposed to be from a 5 series bimmer..
