Anyone familiar with the blue drain plug on the A6 radiator. I recently replaced the heater core (ausitnaldo's step-by-step writeup proved invaluable!!!)and when bleeding the coolant system i noticed a slow drip from the blue radiator drain plug on the lower passenger side (hisis where i drained the coolant to minimize coolant leaking all over the garage duting the heater core removal). Anyone know if this is something typical? Is there an easy fix? Am i looking at a new radiator?

Any help or thoughts will be much appreciated.

92 100S issue list - advice appreciated!

I'm in need of some expertise advice here please....

I'm in need of some expertise advice here please. I've got a 1992 100 with 134k that has several issues that are bewildering to my mechanic (reason being he specializes in MB I'm guessing). If anything comes to mind as a recognizable issue or something reasonably fixable myself please let me know. Here goes:

1. Engine tick / repetitious light clicking (seemingly coming from the left cyl. bank and is a recently new occurrence) 40k on most recent TB

2. Power steering fluid leak - what's the standard lifespan of the rack and est. cost/work involved to replace? Might there be something less drastic wrong?

3. Brake pad indicator warning light (middle information center of dash) - new pads were just installed. I've cleaned the connectors and even tried jumping the wires to "close the loop" since its basically just a closed circuit (no luck).

4. Mysteriously intermittent working/not working heated drivers seat. I don't think its the element since when it works it seems to heat the entire seat considering if maybe just one part of the element was bad.

5. Manual transmission 1st gear tick - one opinion suggested this apparently was a design fault in that Audi made 1st gear too tall and it ended up getting stripped with age. That may be untrue, looking for others with this problem or possible fix?

Long live the C4's, in my opinion some of the best models Audi made in terms of reliability and quality.

97 A6Q with 167k miles, just bought it a week ago, doesn't appear that they ever flushed the power steering (recommended every couple years I think) and fluid is a greyish color. Anyone use Mobil1 synthetic ATF instead of Pentrosin 11s over a long time period with good results, or shouldn't I? Pump appears to be leaking just a little. I just want to get it flushed out and get some good clean fluid in there. I've read other reviews saying Pentrosin appears to be very similar to Mobil1...

When I filled up washer reservoir fluid leaked out at short hose that connects to driverside headlight washer assembly...I plugged off the hose, and no more leaks, the windshield washer works perfect, but no fluid out of the passenger side headlight nozzles with lights on and windshield washers spraying. Any thoughts? Is there a second pump for the headlights or does it run off the same windshield pump? Does line have to be bled out? Should you be able to blow air through the nozzle itself if you remove it and blow through it?
