My A3 has an intermitant high pitched whistle...

My A3 has an intermitant high pitched whistle which comes from the back of the engine compartment on the drivers side. The noise can be from a cold start or occur part way through a journey. The pitch sometimes changes or the noise disappears if I press the throtle. Strangely the noise can continue loudly for 30 secs or so after the engine is switched off, and then sounds like an aircraft powering off after landing. Despite the noise being a daily occurance now, my car seems to have a second sense and is never making the noise when I get to the Audi dealer so they are unable to offer any constructive advice

I have been waiting for this car for some time, and now its here! Diesel is a staple
in the Audi Brand and they do it so well. I am excited for the future of Audi Diesel
in the United States and wonder when we will see the first Quattro variant.

A3 with Ipod Touch

I have a 2008 A3 with the OEM Audi Ipod...

I have a 2008 A3 with the OEM Audi Ipod connection in the glove compartment. When I had an Ipod Nano it just slid in to the plastic sleeve in the glove compartment and the Ipod then connected firmly to the connector in the rear of the glove box. The problem is that now I have an Ipod Touch and it does not fit in the sleeve that holds the Ipod. I checked with my local Audi dealer but they had no idea. They could not locate a sleeve that was designed for the Ipod touch. When I remove the sleeve from glove compartment I can then slide the Ipod Touch in to connect however as soon as I go over a bump in the road, the Ipod dislodges. Has anyone experienced this? It is almost like I need to velcro the Ipod touch to the glove compartment so that it stays put. Is there a part I can order that will address this issue and keep the Ipod in place?
Thanks.

Just had the 35K mile service done on my 2006...

Just had the 35K mile service done on my 2006 3.2Q.

Part of this service calls for DSG fluid and filter and Haldex fluid change.

Service advisor claims both were done but my invoice shows:

5 G-052-182-A2 GEAR OIL

1 02E-305-051-C FILTER

I thought I recall dsg and haldex used different fluids is that correct?

My concern is they may have used wrong fluid in one of the units or maybe based on what I stated above they just did the DSG fluid and filter and did not change the haldex.

If anyone has info on this I would appreciate it.

TIA

I may also put it up on ramps and take a look to see if it looks like both units were sericed.
