Finally completed a detail I hope never to do again (maintenance is MUCH easier, right?). The hardest step was the Intensive Polish -- really has to be cleaned up well. I didn't do the 50% water, 50% alcohol thing so that may be the culprit. The other products are much easier to buff out. Everything was done with a PC, except for the last coat of FMJ (done by hand).
Wash, claybar, wash, IP, FP II, FTG, FMJ, wash (after a few days), 2nd coat of FMJ. 303 on all interior and exterior rubber/vinyl/plastic. Plexus on all shiney plastic. Lexol cleaner and conditioner on all leather. Krudcutter, soft brushing, rinse, 303 on all appropriate engine compartment parts (I've written up my engine detailing process here). Final note: this was my first major detail (after practicing on my '98 Montero). I would not have even known HOW to tackle this without the help of this forum and the great people on it (Kimchee gets MAJOR thanks). I also had a few great resources I turned to which I list here for the reference of others: - Troy's Guide - www.autopia-carcare.com - www.properautocare.com - www.carcareonline.com I'll let the results speak for themselves... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For those who are wondering, the pics were taken at the chapel near the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA.
