Default I am looking to buy the Porter Cable 7424 (the one you all recommend) I found this at ....

I found this at Amazon.com (I have $75 credit there) It says "<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004SUQ8/qid=1047934332/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-3525220-2305417?v=glance&s=home-garden&n=507846">PorterCable 7424P</a>
Is this the one you all recommend? The handle does look shorter...
Plus I have the <a href="http://www.eastwoodco.com/aspfiles/itemdy01.asp?UID=2003031713334148&T1=52218&Dep_Key 1=mfb">7.5 inch from Eastwood</a>, will these two work good together?

Default Yes, that's it, however- - >

you will need the 6 inch hook and loop backing pad and the 6" counter weight.

Too bad you have the credit (double edged sword I guess)...the PC 7424 from <a href="http://coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/a/port/pr7424.htm?L+coastest+mjbk0185ff400940+1043478741" >Coastal Tools</a> comes with the backing pad, counter weight and a 5 inch all-purpose white pad, for $119.00. Arrived next day, no additional charge!

Do a search of the archives...lot's of info in the past few months. For information on pads... most of us are real happy with the white &amp; grey pads from <a href="http://www.properautocare.com/porcabpolac.html">Proper Auto Care</a>.

Default Yes, it's the same...

Not sure what the "P" designation means...I've never seen that. But yes, that's the same polisher.

The eastwood accessories are not recommended. Those pads are too big. The counterweight included with the 7424 is designed to be used with 5" pads. Porter Cable sells a counterweight for 6" pads as well, but that's about the largest pad you should use on the porter cable (and practically speaking, it's probably the largest pad you would want to work with).

I would recommend buying all your accessories for the 7424 from www.properautocare.com. Stay away from wool pads...unless your paint is in horrible condition. The website has recommendations for which pads to use with which products, so read and decide. In general, yellow offers mild cutting action, white is for polishing, and grey is a finishing pad for applying liquid waxes. Most here prefer the variable contact foam pads in one of these three colors, depending on what product they are working with, and the condition of the paint they are working on.

If you need a 6" counterweight, let me know...I have two extras. I bought them from a store last time I was in Hartford...they normally sell for $2 + $7 for shipping, so I picked up one for myself and a few for the AW folks. Turns out, most folks here already have the counterweights. Doh! Anyway, it'll cost ya $4.00 shipped to your door. You'll need a torx bit to change out the counterweights.

Default Yup...the same, but you'll need to buy the conversion kit too.

If you plan on getting something else at Amazon, save your credit and buy the PC from Coastal.
