I went to the Satcar event at Gingerman this weekend and had the time of my life. All the track junkies on here should really consider giving SATCAR a try because it is a fun way to take DE to the next level. The SATCAR formula is very similar to bracket racing except it is adapted for road racing purposes.
In SATCAR you get 2 practice sessions a qualifying session and a 1 hour race. they take everyone's fastest qualifying time and calculate the times to determine a staggered start time for each car so everyone should finish at the exact same time. obviously this means the slowest car starts first and the fastest car starts last. This weekend the fastest car had to pass the slowest car 5 times during the one hour race. On Sunday the slowest car and the fastest car won the race. Passing in the corners is prohibited so it is safe for street cars. The event was run very professionally and all the drivers were safe and courteous.
the fastest times of the weekend was achieved by a 2008 lotus 211. I got a ride and it was pretty sick!

http://www.satcarracing.com/</a

I read the rules of competition that they have, but still have some questions
I understand about the staggered start, and all that stuff, but still don't TOTALLY get the all the details.
Also, they talked about requiring at least 2 days of a driving event or something like that to have enough experience. Do the ACNA DE's count for that? Basically, would someone with my level of experience be allowed to particiapte?
Sounds like a lot of fun. Not sure if I'll be able to make one this year, but next year, it sounds like a great way to spend a weekend.
