Montreal - Hwy 15 south before Champlain bridge,
7 police cars, 6 marked, 1 unmarked. Radar guy is standing on the side of the autoroute. Right Now...Didn't get caught - lucky.

if you did get caught. You are the one that started a thread about a radar trap in that area (on Bonaventure) just last week ;-)

Noticed lots of radar traps being setup around the GTA lately, most with only 1 cop car hiding off of a side street with the cop operating a tri-pod mounted radar gun pointing towards the road at a distance. If the thing is setup as such, are they only tracking 1 lane in particular? Also, I see them running out onto the road in advance to instruct cars to pull onto the side street (to write the ticket I assume), thus cars stopped are usually the ones traveling on the right lane.

It doesn't seem like an effective method, not to mention dangerous for the cop running out onto the street with a speeding car coming (even though is well in advance). Or perhaps those are photo radars? So if the cop doesn't catch you himself, you get a ticket in the mail or what? Anyone knows more on this, care to share???

just keept driving he/she would have pack up the tripod and gun and take off after you I'm not sure they would do that

The tripod stays up, cops wave you over.

Don't stop = get chased by pursuit car...which I'm sure they love because then they get additional dollars for your subsequent failure to stop ticket + whatever else they want to give you.
