I thought I could get used to this format, I could, but there is something that I miss with the old layout where I can easily scan through an entire thread and get brought back up to speed on the discussion - especially when you're carrying a couple conversations with different people within the same thread.

You can't do that here easily - and that's the one thing I'm starting to miss as I go back on a couple of threads in the other sections.

vbulletin has a threaded view mode, but for some reason it's been disabled - not sure if it's because it can't handle the sheer volume of messages here or slows down with the large the number of online users.

Actually, they enabled it (or so they say) but it's hardly more helpful.

The best part is their FAQ's actually said threaded and hybrid would be available! But Adrian from IB said it's the volume, so they disabled it. See his post #3:
