My A4 Avant has the sport package with 17" wheels. I'm trying to get winter tires on rims. I've been looking for 16" rims since that's what the dealer originally told me would work (and they were pushing a tire and rim package with 205/55 R16 tires). I've been trying to get a package from Green & Ross but they haven't been able to find a 16" rim that will fit (the brake calipers are "too big" for the rim to go over). They've tried 2 or 3 different rims (including alloys) but none would work. Am I looking at the wrong size (should I be looking for 17" rims) or will the 16" rims that Audi dealers were selling earlier (the Pirelli package) work on my car?

They would have to have spokes very close to the face of the wheel though in order to clear the calipers. 205/55-16 seems a little bit small too: I think for the B6/B7 215/55-16 is a better size.
