Any ideas when A4 3.2 with MT coming out?

I've heard of a couple special-order cases in the past
One B6 or B7 order where cloth sport(?) seats were ordered but this was an order that the individual had to place directly with Audi of Canada and it wasn't a straight-forward order. As with any custom order I think there was an added fee for the custom order and could not be leased.

I can already hear it from customers...
so Alex, you are saying that the only way to get this car is by ordering it? What about a test drive? What if I don't like it?
Ok, I'll order it, but I want a condition that if I don't like it, you'll refund my deposit!
I can think of more scenarios, but this is a typical one.

In your example, it would be the dealer at fault
I don't think the solution is to not allow this kind of order at all just because some dealer(s) allow customers to put these kind of escape clauses into the order.

Errr, do you know how many combinations you can get in EU?
Top Gear Magazine publishes a list of all vehicles sold in the UK with ratings. I dont have mine if front of me, but I believe the A4 comes in about 8 different engines and a variety of styles.
Limiting N.A. to 2 perhaps 3 engines is just plain wrong, kind of like the stupid decision not to bring an S4 Avant for '10

I don't disagree. I wish we had more choices, but logistically, it would be impossible...
Imagine not only having all those choice, of which most people wouldn't get, but also all the parts that dealer have to stock and tech training to service all these cars.
It wouldn't be profitable!
Let me ask something to AW members; the A3 will be available in diesel this fall, how many of you guys will get one?
This vehicle will be available because of demand, so lets see how many orders I can take : )
I bet you that I can ask 100 different people what their ideal Audi would be, and I would most likely get 100 different answers.

Different business model over there.
In Europe, most orders are factory orders, and dealerships only need a minimal inventory.
Here, dealerships needs a much larger inventory because that's what customer expects. The European business model just won't work here. It'll lead to the situation Alex is talking about.
