Default The (un)Official A6 Bluetooth Phone Thread

Ok here's the concept this thread is for people to post what phone they have and what functions work within the car. I would submit that the brand/model of the phone is placed in the subject and the "message" contains the following information:

MANDATORY INFO:
Connects to car: Yes/No/Inconsistent
Download sim phonebook: Yes/No
Dialed calls: Yes/No
Missed calls: Yes/No
Received calls: Yes/No
Signal Strength: Yes/No (empty bars = NO)
Caller ID: Yes/No/Inconsistent
Answer calls from MMI: Yes/No/Inconsistent
Hang up from MMI: Yes/No/Inconsistent
Ignore calls from MMI: Yes/No/Inconsistent

OPTIONAL INFO (may be helpful for different results with the same phones):
Phone firmware/software versions:
MMI version (obtained by going to CAR then pressing the bottom right "soft key" which surrounds the MMI ****)

I'll start the thread by posting the two phones I have access to next. Any more posts greatly appreciated. Hopefully this will compile a list of phones that work well with the A6 so anyone in the market for a new phone can just take a look at this thread and find out what they need to know, also if MMI updates fix problems with existing phones we will all know. I would also encourage people with the same phone getting different results than have been previously posted to post their results (this is when it gets especially important to post software versions).

Default Re: Motorola V551

I have tried this phone also. I get all of the features you mention including signal strength indicator. Reception is great in SF Bay Area.
I have had only one problem: When you move out of range of the car, the bluetooth connection drops and so do the calls. This happened only once. Other times I have been able to get into and out of the car with the cellphone and it would transfer to/from the speakerphone seamlessly! Way cool.

Flex version GSPSAN2CIN03NA07B.
S/W version R47_G_08.17.0FR_01

I am getting rid of this phone for a Siemens S65, because the 551 does not sync with Outlook and has tiny memory (5MB).
I am getting the S65 Cullman cradle from Germany, because the official Audi .pdf file says it has some bluetooth problems. I'll update this post when I have it up and running. Why is there no phone that does it all?????

Default Motorola MPX 220

Connects to car: Yes
Download sim phonebook: No
Dialed calls: No
Missed calls: No
Received calls: No
Signal Strength: No
Caller ID: Yes
Answer calls from MMI: Yes
Hang up from MMI: Inconsistent. Known "end call" issue.
Ignore calls from MMI: Leads to dropped calls.

This is such an awesome phone in every other regard. The dropped calls led me to try a V551. That ended up being a mistake because it doesn't sync with Outlook and has terribly small memory.

Default Re: Motorola V710 - tried on Acura RL last weekend

I actually tried connecting my Verizon Motorola V710 in an Acura RL on Saturday and later on the A6 3.2. I didn't pay attention to phone book, dialed calls, or received calls, but I connected easily, made a call using the handsfree mode and received a call with the car showing the caller ID on the dash. Caller ID definitely worked on the Acura bluetooth connection.

Audi connection was made flawlessly but my experience with other features was as you've listed here.

I'm not sure how much of the problem is with the Audi software or with Verizon's lobotomized bluetooth profile.

Default The Acura will not pull the phone book with any phone.

Their BT does not allow it.
I believe that Verizon is being sued by Motorola for not allowing the full capabilities of the BT to be used on the phone.
