Default High perf. street brake pad advice for Boxster caliper fronts, stock rears

1999.5 A4 1.8TQMS

My main concern is that I don't want to have to swap out the rear pads for track sessions / driving events. I plan to get Pagid Orange or the like to swap out for the front Boxster calipers, though. Right now I'm running Axxis Ultimates all around and they are pretty decent, but I'd like to try something else. I want to run the most aggressive pad I can for street, but I'm concerned about noise, cold friction and dust.

I've read that the Porterfield R4S, Pagid RS4-2-1 Black, Pagid RS4-2 Blue, Ferodo DS2500, Hawk Ceramic, and several others might work for me, but I figured I'd get some input. Obviously, whichever pad I choose has to be made for the Boxster caliper and the stock rear B5 A4 caliper.

My criteria for the street pads is (in order of importance):

1) Don't have to swap the rears for track use

2) Preferably no squealing, or as little as possible. For example, I had Hawk HP+ on a different car and they squealed like a **** unless you did a full force stop.

3) Good cold (by cold I mean freezing) friction. Axxis Ultimates required some left foot braking in the snow to keep them warm.

4) Low dust. Axxis Ultimates leave fairly heavy black dust.

Default I have the same setup. Low dust and high performance, that's going to be hard. How about noise?

You will have to live with dust and noise for performance.

Hawk HPS may be the right pad for you...

I use them all year and HP+ for track days although I think you could get away with tracking on the HPS's
