2009 A4 Front Brake Replacement
I took my '09 A4 in for a 45K check-up this morning. I got a call from the dealership stating that the front pads are starting to wear thin (2mm and 3mm) and that I should consider getting the front pads, sensors, and rotors replaced. Cost is ~$550 w/ parts and labor.
Given that Audi brakes seem to generate a lost of dust, are there any other options I should consider? I'm not a car guru, so I'd still have to pay a shop to do the work.
Sorry if this a re-post. I find the searching on this site challenging to filter. TIA.

Brake pads are trade-offs. Heat handling for cold performance, dust for effectiveness, etc.
I like OEM unless the car is used on a race-track, then you need much higher temps.
If you want to have less dust, and will accept lower temp handling - and its typically fine for normal use -- consider ceramic pads. Centric, Akebono and others make them.
I doubt you need rotors.
Clean the calipers, lubricate them, etc. IF you do from pads to a different material, consider doign the rears as well with matching friction material.

lots of dust
I noticed to that these brakes dust quite a bit more than any I've seen. I too would like some that don't create so much dust... it is incredible how much they dust. I can't keep my wheels clean for nothing. Lol
