Default Menzerna wheel cleaner appears to be incompatible with Stoptech caliper paint :(

Cleaned the car this afternoon and used the Menzerna cleaner on the front wheels since they get very dusty. Works excellent for cleaning wheels and I noticed no detrimental effects on the wheel finish (BBS with silver paint). However, there were some drips on the caliper and when I wiped them down I ended up with a red towel and the drips made some dull streaks. I was able to clean them up with P21S GEPC and they seem ok now. Just a heads up.

Default Eagle1 made the Audi dealer acc. cleaning kit...

I've used Eagle1 All Wheel & Tire Cleaner and really like it. Haven't had any issue with any painted surfaces.

I stopped using it on my SSRs though, because I noticed where the lip's clearcoat was penetrated by bigger chunks of brake dust (I know, I'm a slacker when it comes to cleaning cars), the wheel cleaner would actually etch the surface under the clear finish.

Default I never had any issues with P21S wheel cleaner

but I think I'll be avoiding any wheel cleaner products on the fronts at least, it's not worth ruining the finish on the calipers for the small amount of time and effort they save.

Were your calipers completely cool?

Default Yep, car had been in the garage all day,

backed it out into the driveway, sat in the shade while I washed it, wheels and calipers had been hosed down so yeah they were definitely cool. Not sure why it did it but I'm not gonna try it again.
