Default Clear coat peel

My 03 A4 has a plam size of clear coat peel. The body shop told me that I would need to prepare 1.5k to have the whole door sanded to metal and have it repainted.. Is there a quick/cheap alternative to fix it (or at least make it less obvious)?

Default no real alternative, but....

$1500 to prep and paint a door is outrageous....

Ask for body shop recommendation in your regional forum and shop around....
