Default Sunday morning detailing question! help!

really quick question: I realized today that I only have 3m SMR for dark colored cars, but I was going to work on my aviator grey TT today. Is it ok to use it, the color is basically like grey primer? I don't think the store that sells 3m products around here is open today, so going out to get more isn't really an option. Thanks.

Default as far as I know

The SMR for dark colors just has more chem's for shine and swirl removal than the standard stuff... let me check...

I'm assuming you have 39009 for dark finishes. As far as I can tell the one for light colors only differs in one way, the color of the compound. I'm sure they do that so you don't get the white spots on your black or black spots on your white car. IIRC the 39009 is kinda grey isn't it? in that case it should work perfectly with your grey car. BTW the light colored smr is 39109.

Default Sorry this is too late but....

The two SMR's are chemically the same as far as the compound is concerned. Just the filler tint is different. You can interchange them whenever you want.
