Adam's question

Adam's question
I have used Zaino since 1996, but received an Adam's detail kit last Christmas. I like the simplicity of the adam's kit (no mixing or funky names... Fx1, z5, z2, z7, etc)adn the smell of the products. I dawned the car and clayed the rough spots. However, after one or two washes the water no longer beads. This has happened with both cars I waxed with adam's butter wax. Could the residual of zaino be causing it to not bond? One car was basically a new car so it didn't have any zaino, just the crap the dealer used which should have been removed with the dawn wash. Zaino was more labor intensive, but seemed to last a very long time. Did I do anything wrong?. What is others experiences? Is beading just not a good measure of whether the wax / polymer is lasting? BTW... both cars are garaged 99% of the time. Only time they are out of the garage is when they are driven (ie never parked outside for any extended period of time). thanks, bill

Bill, Butter Wax does not last too long, I would say max 2 months in your situation
and if it sits outside 3-4 weeks. If you want something that last longer I would try FMJ, Optimum Spray Wax, Blitz, P21S, there are more out there I heard Jeffs Werkstatt is great but I haven't tried any yet.
How often do you wash your car?
Let me know if I can help in any way.

Weekly. I'm just used to water beading. Not saying it is gone or not protecting, just surprised it doesn't beed after one or two washes.
Why not offer a wax / polymer product to compete with zaino (something that lasts, but is easy to apply and remove... no mixing any secret sauce)?

We are working on two things a sealant type product and a carnuba paste wax..
I have tested a paste that we are looking at and so far so good, the depth and gloss are great durability will its still beads nicely and its been on for 2 1/2 weeks lets see what happens.
