    Sub Install Non-Bose B6 A4 2004

Ok, before you cringe I have read for several days on performing this operation. Here, a4mods, and other places...I plan on making this a writeup since I've bumped into a fair bit of doublespeak on what needs to be done.

    I have an Alpine MRP-M500
    (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500MRPM500/Alpine-MRP-M500.html?tp=115&tab=features_and_specs)

    One 12' Type R
    (http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=500SWR1242&tp=111&tab=features_and_specs)

The Alpine accepts 'Speaker line inputs'; it has a 'low pass crossover' but not a 'high pass'.

I've already run the 4 GA power cable to a happy home in the trunk. Fuse holder is placed 7 inches from battery. (I'll add fuse when done handling cables.)

Since I am using the Factory Symph II headunit, I plan on tapping an RCA into the preouts and not using a LOC. Is that recommended for quality even with the speaker line inputs on my amp?

Also, is there a writeup about splicing an RCA into the headunit - if I decided to go that route?

Finally, any wiring diagrams for the non-bose b6 would be helpful. I have two different ones right now....So far everything has been VERY clean and I want to make sure I do this right.

    Thanks!

*Btw, I forgot what email I had my old screenname under I've posted here before about some upgrades*
