    2001 Audi TT Roadster Subwoofer

OK...I'm (slowly) replacing the Bose system in my TT. I just had an Alpine 9886 installed (which instantly made things sound better to me...). I have Infinity component system for the doors on the way (I am not overly concerned about replacing the rear speakers).

Now, the proverbial cherry will be a decent subwoofer. Through my sophomoric understanding of all things audio, I have concluded to use the OEM space provided I will need an 8" shallow mount subwoofer, between 2 and 4 ohms as I've decided to keep the Bose amp. The issue I'm encountering is Rockford doesn't have shallow mounts in 8" and neither does JL Audio's Thin Line...or Clarion...or Memphis Car Audio...or Boston Acoustics...etc...etc...

Pioneer seems to have plenty of them...and I came across a Kicker shallow mount. I'd rather not have to resort to Pioneer as I'm not sure that would actually be an "upgrade". So:

    a) would anyone recommend Kicker (specifically CompVT 08CVT84)?

    b) are there any other brands that I'm missing that I should be looking at that will have the size I'm looking for?

    Cheers!
