Valentine1 Rear View Mirror Display

I'm looking for someone who might be intrested in being a guinea pig for embedding the remote display for a Valentine V1 in to their rear view mirror. Costs would be kept to a minimum as it's a proof of concept, assuming all goes well (which it should) you'll end up with the V1 display embedded in yor mirror simialr to this.
I'm in the US by the way, not the UK.

Re: But where would my compass display go?
Well there are several steps to confirming if it is viable and then actually doing the work. The first step si to confirm there is space inside the mirror assembly, if you're game to pop yours apart and take some pictures I can send you the sizes that would be required.
Simialrly we need to make sure the back of the mirror is acessible, in some I've found they have circuitry over the whole mirror which is obviously a problem.
If everything looks promising I need the mirror, I usually recommend buying a second mirror so you can still drive but if that isn't feasible it my be possible to take your mirror out and use a cheap alternative in the meantime.
It'll probably take me 3-4 weeks to actually to the mod, the mirror work is pretty intensive. There's a slim chance it could mark or scratch the mirror but it is slight.
Assuming that goes well I need to mod the display, mount it, add a jack plug to connect it and send it back to you.
This all typically costs about $300 plus the cost of the mirror but for the first pass through I'm willing to cut in to that a long way as we're both involved int he work and the (minimal) risk.
You can email me directly at lawlessc at gmail dot com if you prefer.

Re: I would do it.
Details in the thread, email me if you'd like to get the ball rolling. The first steps just involve a good look at your current mirror and some discussion.
