OK so replaced the front Bose speakers with aftermarket 4 OHM SPEAKERS:

I replaced my front 4" Bose speakers which run at 2 ohms with aftermarket 4 ohm speakers. I did it as an experiment to see how they would sound )and since my drivers side front is blown). My expectation was that the 4 ohm speaker should sound quieter than the 2 ohm, even though I figured the sensitivity and output of the aftermarkets were better (Kenwood KFC-1077 4" 2 ways), and that it wouldn't sound right hooked up to the Bose amp that supposedly uses equalization etc.
They were indeed a tiny bit quieter, although not much, but they sound much better. I didn't think it would sound good since impendence was different and the Bose amp uses equalization. I am into good sound and no rookie when it comes to stereos etc, but no means a hardcore audiophile. But this solution worked for me and sounds great! Just throwing this out there for people who have blown front 4" speakers (they blow VERY easily and I don't listen to music that loud either).
Note: The 4 ohm speakers should not damage any wiring or the Bose amp, since they run at a higher impedanece (Therefore drawing less power).
I was surprised how easy and good sounding the switch was. When I was swapping them, I swapped the drivers side first and then faded towards the front and listened to the differences between the Kenwood and Bose 4"s. Then I changed the balance back and forth to see the difference in sound. They sound quite similar, but the Kenwood in my opinion sounds better.

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/discave/kfc1077.html</a

WRONG
running at higher impedance means 1/2 the power. if you're running at 4 ohms, the amp needs TWICE the power to get the same volume as before (assuming equal efficiency)
i bet the AM speakers are a bit more efficient than stock but you are still overworking the amp. if you dont run music loud then its no big deal but dont be suprised if your amp eventually overheats or blows.
