ICELink currently uses Alpine M-BUS as far as I can tell and translates each end (radio and iPod) into this common protocol. That is partly why the ICELink has such limited functionality.

What I was really hoping for was a Audi specific solution that allows the same degree of control as the PhatBox and also receives the artist/track information and displays it on the radio.
