Concert II auto power off failure with ignition and after 1 hour problems?
<center><img src="http://www.martincooper.co.uk/images/concertradio.jpg"></center><p>Hi Audi members,
I have just recently fitted my Audi A6 1998 model (non can-bus) with the new Concert II radio. However, I have noticed a few faults with the setup, these are:
1. Illumination problems at night with the backlights not switching on with the headlights (since fixed with a tech article).
2. Auto power off failure with the ignition (remains on).
3. Auto power off after 1 hour.
4. Front speakers not operating on occasions.
Does anybody know how to fix the issue of the auto power off after an hour? and also how to fix the problem of the ignition power off. I believe it is probably an easy fix by soldering another wire to the PCB and fixing it to the bus connector that has the pin missing to operate this function, but as yet I am unsure which pins these are.
If anyone has experienced these problems, could you email me and let me know how you have found a fix.
Thanks,
Martin

I have also posted this question in other places on this forum... take a look
Hi Novice,
I have posted this question in other places on the Audi World forum to get the maximum response, and thankfully lots of people have replied. It looks as though there might be a fix for these issues in non can-bus cars. Take a look at this thread for more details... https://forums.audiworld.com/audio/msgs/37305.phtml

I have been following along
I want to do this with my 98.5 A4 as well, but I'm not going to try until someone pioneers a CAN-emulator box, if thats even possible.
I wonder if there are any EE's out there with a CAN to serial capture device and a 2001+ Audi. If we could capture the traffic that the Radio is expecting, it should be possible to build a simple emulator that fools the radio.
But then I know very little about it.
