Default easy.. wire the car's 12V pwr line to both the deck's 12V pwr and accessory line...

on you car's deck harness will be a 12V line that's always live, and an accessory/ignition line that's only live with the key in. Usually, you wire these two lines to the matching ones on your aftermarket deck. But instead, do what I said in the subject line.

Just make sure that you can turn off you deck completely when you leave the car so it doesn't drain your batt.

Default from what I recall, most motorized faceplate decks still retract...

if you can turn them "off". Otherwise, you'll have to do some custom wiring and add a switch. What I've done is set up a switch and relay such that my stereo comes on normally via the key, unless I flick my switch, in which case, the stereo will operate w/o the key.

Default here goes...

basic relay consists of the pole (P), the normally closed (NC) throw, and normally open (NO) throw. By default, P and NC are connected; when the relay is activated, P and NO are connected.

Connect the P to the deck's accessory line, NC to the car's accessory line, NO to the car's 12V line. The car's acc and 12V lines are found on the stock deck's wiring harness. Connect a switch to trip the relay.

That's the bottom line. If you don't understand, I'll consider drawing a diagram.

BTW, everybody that sees this setup thinks it's da bomb
