What are the yellow and blue leads for? What do they connect to?

Default The wire colors are not the same on those adapters.

You will have to contact the seller to get a wiring plan or so and see how they are supposed to get connected. I haven't seen one but there should be at least 7 wires: 12V+, GND, CAN high, CAN low, ingition, light, speed.

Is none of the wires labeled?

Default Sounds like the one I got

I assume the yellow and blue leads are in addition to the rest of the adapter that plugs right into the harness?

I'll have to look at the wiring diagram/car when I get home tonight, but each of those wires needs to be spliced into the harness that plugs into the back of the Concert II.

I'll check it out when I get home and get back to you.

Default Here's what I found

If you look at the wiring diagram for the Concert II there are pins for CAN L and CAN H. That's where the stray wires go.

Also, if you plan to use a CD changer/iceLink the CD ground is different between the Concert I and II.

If you need the wiring diagrams search here or let me know and I can send them to you.

Default OK, so..

Here is a diagram. I see the can high and can low.

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.langzeittest.de/audi-a3-sportback/intern/grafik/kk-concert2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.langzeittest.de/audi-a3-sportback/technik/freisprecheinrichtung.php&h=400&w=384& sz=29&hl=en&start=34&tbnid=xBne8C92YUN X3M:&tbnh=120&tbnw=115&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%2522concert%2BII%2522%26start%3D20%2 6dnum%3D20%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3 Doff%26sa%3DN

I do not know which is high or which is low on the canbus interface(blue or yellow). Will I fry anything if I get it wrong? I assume I tap into the existing wiring and not replace what is there.

Thanks for your help.

Tim

Default Problems with the CAN-BUS interface adapter... HELP !!!

<center><img src="http://www.martincooper.co.uk/images/can-bus_setup.jpg"></center><p>
Hi McLoffs,

I have just purchased one of these CAN-BUS interface adapters for my Audi A6 Pre-CAN-BUS '97 car.

I have plugged it up, but am a little dissapointed that some of the features still don't work.

When the key is out of the ignition, the Concert II radio will perform fine, turning on and off, with all speakers active and illumination working. However, when I put the key in the ignition and start the engine and then put on the radio, I only get sound from the rear speakers and not the front. Is this to do with the CAN-H and CAN-L, as the adapter did have two wires loose when i fitted it. I thought i had connected these correctly to the green plug on pins 7 and 12. So i suppose my question is which one is which, and will it fix the problem?

BLUE wire = ?
YELLOW wire = ?

Is one of these wires in the wrong position? Currently the YELLOW wire is connected to pin 7 and the BLUE is connected to 12... I think.

If anyone out there knows of a solution, please do let me know.

Also the power off after 1 hour is still happening, which is so annoying. I do alot of motorway driving and having to start the radio up again 5 times is a little unbelievable not to mention frustrating.

I have posted quite a few messages on this forum, so if anyone feels like following the discussions, please use the search option and look for CAN-BUS, account number: 74035, which will show all my rescent posts.

Thanks,
