Hey this might be a stupid question b/c I don't know much about stereo equipment. I have 02 A4 non bose. Is it possible to upgrade the (8 in?) OEM woofer with something better. Maybe JL audio W3? would i need to get a separate amp to power it or would it just be plug and play? Also, would it even fit where the OE one is? My plan would be to mount it upside down compared to how the OE woofer is. Lastly, assuming this whole thing is possible, would I get 4 ohms or 8 ohms? Sorry for so many questions. Any input is appreciated. ps I'm also posting on the audio forum.

Then installed the amp on the other side where the stock sub used to be. Wow, what a transformation. You could easily get an 8" unit in there as there's quite a bit of space, certainly on the Avant anyway, the saloon can't be too different.
