I have a 2003 Audi A4 3.0 w/ Symphony II head unit, and supposedly no CD changer wiring to the trunk. Do I need to purchase anything other than the VW PhatNoise system + mount kit + $115 Audi Phatnoise/CD changer harness (4B0-051-735-B)?

I'm getting mixed signals from these posts...some are implying I would need the $45 PhatNoise jumper cable (000-051-592-A) also. Is this so?

If this is the case, maybe it's just better to order the Audi PhatNoise sysem from ClairParts.com for $165.

The VW model comes with the Phatnoise player hardware and a cable that connects to a VW CD changer cable, which is useless.

You need a way to get from the 25 pin plug on the back of the Phatbox all the way to your head unit. The CD changer harness (4B0-051-735-B) goes from your head unit to a 13 pin din plug. You still need a way to get from the 13 pin din plug to the 25 pin plug on the phatbox, which is cable (000-051-592-A). See the install guides:

If you buy the VW unit:
player= $120 + $14 shipping = $134
phatnoise adapter cable = $53
TOTAL= $187 (not including 4B0-051-735-B)

If you buy the setup from Clair:
player w/cable= $166 + $13 shipping = $179
TOTAL= $179 (not including 4B0-051-735-B)

Or you can buy the VW unit and splice into the CD changer harness yourself, if you go that route get the VW unit and save some money.
