Default Dealership says A5 audio CANNOT be upgraded... Options?

My 2011 A5(Premium) is an awesome car except for the sound system, which is lackluster at best. I should've gone for the B&O upgrade originally, but now it's too late. The dealership says it's impossible to upgrade now since all the wiring has to be re-done from front to back...

What other options are available to me? I refuse to believe that this crappy sound is stuck with me forever!

I'd try upgrading the speakers first and see how that helps

Just visit a high end car audio shop - there are a million ways to do it, most of which will exceed the B&O system. I am upgrading my A4,, a decent system (fully integrated, still using the MMI etc will start at about $2,800 installed. Yes, this is more than the $850 B&O option, but gives a very good result.

It's a good thing you DIDN'T get the B&O as it's not much of an "upgrade" and you'd likely upgrade from there anyway.

Not sure it's possible to upgrade the current setup as it's not standard din or double din. Wish I could as I wanted NAV built-in.
Anyone know what size the oem speakers are? Think there's 10?

Carl - I am curious what audio system upgrades you installed and how you like it? Can you post some information about it?

From my initial trolling for ideas for my '09 A6, it appears most places recommend an OEM sound processor (JL CleanSweep, Audison BitOne or JBL MS8) to work around the bandaid DSP built into the OEM systems to make the cheap speakers sound acceptable. Just swapping out better speakers doesn't get you very far without tackling the electronics upstream.

Thanks
