I live on Maui in the winter and have an R8 due for delivery on the mainland about New Year's time.

In response to this inquiry I called the Honolulu Audi dealer. They have delivered ONE R8 so far. All of their R8's are priced at $50,000. over MSRP. In addition, they REQUIRE R8 buyers to sign a "first right of refusal" to the dealership. And that paperwork also prohibits the buyer from shipping the car off Oahu for 18 months!!!!!! (The salesman, by the way, seemed very proud of these terms).

Toys for Tots is a very worthy cause. I hope these blood-sucking car dealers choke on their Thanksgiving dinners!

Happy Belated Turkey Day!!

I believe the audi gang here has identified the owner of the lone R8 - we're just trying to get the car to join us in a euro drive this weekend for the kids!

Congrats on your new toy too!! Delivery right around Xmas will be a great gift -- are you going to put snows on the car (rather, do you NEED to put snows on) and drive her around? Despite being nose-heavy my RS6 handled great in the snow -- I imagine a well balanced weight distribution would be heaven to toss around...
