I spoke to my dealer last week about ordering an SQ8 and they never mentioned anything about the model going away. They did say they are expecting it being renamed to the ‘Q7 Sportback’ like they are doing with the A4/A5, since even numbers will be designated for electric vehicles.

Granted this is just speculation, this seems a lot more realistic than the ICE model going away completely. As ThomasWShea mentioned, there have already been spy shots of the face lifted model being tested. Their is no way Audi will be throwing that money and effort away and lose a competing model to BMW/MB

This contradicts everything I’ve been reading about the Q8 FL. I asked if the model number would be changed as the confusion with the Q8 etron is a massive cluster f$KC and was given no answer.

Is this the end for Q8 ICE????
Your dealer has strange information or it is his own strange speculation. Audi officially confirmed its strategy for the next few years. The Q8 and other cars with ICE will continue to be produced. However, they will not be further developed (except FL) and new ICE models will not be introduced. Thus, internal combustion engines will not be developed either. After 2030, Audi is to switch completely to the production of EV cars, although I think that there will still be markets where Audi will sell cars with ICE.
Porsche has a similar strategy and officially announced that the just presented Cayenne FL is the last of the ICE. The Cayenne EV is to be unveiled next year and both models will be sold in parallel until 2030.

So is anyone else surprised that the 24 Q8/SQ8/RSQ8 is unchanged and there is no facelift for MY24?

Won’t lie I hope it doesn’t change. And I say that only because I’m taking delivery of MY23 SQ8 very shortly haha.

I was also told by dealer who talked to whoever they talked too when confirming if my car was going to be a 23 or 24 due to prior delays that there was no change of any kind for MY24 so hopefully they weren’t BS’ing me.

The MY2024 will not change anything for the time being only in the RSQ8. Something will already change in the Q8 and SQ8.
