That's interesting, are the OEM tips 'fake' as you referenced above (do they not hook to the muffler)?

The SQ8 tips from Audi do not hook to the muffler, just the valence. There is a bracket that attaches them. The tips themselves are metal and quite realistic in their design and appearance.

I was able to install the valence (and Stealth hitch) last week. I'll let other that have done the work themselves chime in, but I'm not certain you'd be able to replace the valence without removing the bumper (there are many, many clips and they are super tightly fastened). I had to remove the bumper anyway (for the hitch), it's possible it would have been easier to just rip the valence off while the bumper was installed.
Still have to get the tips on, but waiting for the computer to get back from Weistec from the tune first, wish me luck
Yes. I had a local custom muffler shop fabricate a Y exhaust to the tips so that both tips are functional. The rest just welds to the stock muffler where the stock down pipe exhaust was cut off. Looks really clean.
It appears the part you asked about is an ABT part, not the factory SQ8 items.
It might be possible to do a group purchase on the SQ8 items and ship to one location to save on costs. The price unfortunately climbed Jan 1st as Audi adjusts pricing every year quite a bit. Also shipping costs have been double than expected which has been added into the pricing. So shipping into one location would help cut overall costs to allow for discounting.
