Default Would anyone be interested in a cast sport quattro replica manifold?

If the SQ manifold were to be replicated, only with 40mm runners instead of 30mm runners, would you be interested? The standard 30mm runner SQ manifolds are supposedly good to 550hp or so, meaning that these manifolds should flow more than that . Internal routing of the runners would be as close to the standard SQ manifolds as possible.

There are some questions as to the materials it will be made of yet and any feedback that could be provided to facilitate manufacturing the mani would be great. Suggestions, requirements, feedback, etc. would be much appreciated.

Preliminary pricing looks to be hundreds below the cost of an RS2 unit. That said, some modifications would be necessary to your DP as this manifold has different dimensions than an RS2 unit.

Default It can't be. The flange is only for a K27.

Although i know Corey is trying to fab a T3/T4 flange into the casting. Still, wave buh-bye to the RS2 turbo. You wouldn't gain anything over an RS2 manifold anyway except a bit better flow, and a LOT of weight. Stick with your RS2. It's fine for the power you want.

Default ...

I'd be curious to see if you can get it made for what you are proposing, price-wise. That casting R&D is going to cost $$bucks$$. I know what the shop said they'd charge, but I question if that's a realistic target given the above.

That said, I'd be in at that price if someone were intelligently and knowledgeably able to input on the alloy, specifically what materials in the casting would be most advantageous to preventing stress cracks. Plus the lifetime warranty... Yeah, I just got off the phone with Nick. :P He's like our own little AudiWorld "E" host. You're still going to have to convince Brian to donate his unit for R&D. You got that in the bag? Weldo?

Default Yup, the company who would be making them is offering a lifetime warranty. (more inside)

I dunno if weldo is gonna be able to donate his or not, we're just going to have to wait and see!

The deal goes like this... to get good pricing on these units, we'd need to pick up 25 of 'em. *insert shock, aw and disbelief that this'll ever get done here*

BUT, I am personally willing to buy half of them to see this go through. That'd mean there'd have to be deposits/payment down on the remaining 12. Right now pricing is looking to be around $500-$600/piece absolute TOPS.

The guys that are doing it are pretty seasoned have tonnes of other manifolds out on the market for other Audi's/Subarus/Turbo Hondas/etc/etc and all of their products came with the same lifetime warranty... so I'd think if they didn't make a good product it would've bit them in the **** by now.

Default Well, it'll really depend on what people want. I really want a T3/T4 flange... but if no one else

does, then monetarily it just won't be feasible, so it'd probably get made with a K26. Although I haven't discussed the option of having half with one flange (K26) and half with another (T3/T4), it may be possible.

The K26 flange would be awesome for any people that want something more bolt on (just need to modify the DP), but I know the bigger turbo guys are going to want something like the T3/T4 (Nick and myself namely).

I have a AQS manifold. You need an adapter to fit the K26. No big deal.

According to Javad, there is littl or no benefit to the T3/T4 flange. Thats what he told me.
