Where is the moisture trap in vacuum line for '95.5 S6?
Can someone please describe or sent a picture of where this puppy is on a '95.5? I have seen where it is on a '93, and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find it on my '95.5 where the picture showed, until someone said they changed the location on the '95 and newer.
Any photos would be great!
Thanks in advance,
Robert

Well, first of all it's not a moisture trap and second it's not ....
really a vacuum line (at least all of the time). The tubing carries the physical pressure/vacuum signal from the engine to the pressure transducer in the ECU under the passenger side footwell. This is the 2.5 BAR or 3.0 BAR (1 BAR = about 14.5 psi) transducer that then creates an electrical signal that is read by the ECU, i.e. IF the pressure = 1.5 BAR THEN I better tell the injectors to give this much fuel AND the ignition to have this much advance, etc." The "moisture" trap is really an analogue pressure transducer comprised of diaphram in a little plastic case that prevents the air/fuel mixture in the intake manifold (the source of the pressure/vacuum signal) from reaching/touching the ECU. Audi moved this analogue transducer from the firewall (under the black rectangular cover) to near, the ECU, in the passenger footwell. (The frequency of the pressure/vacuum hose coming off in this location has been very rare (I can't remember when I last heard of one) - as opposed to the firewall location - which happens regularly until you replace the OEM crimp-on clamp with a proper screw/band clamp (about $2)).
There are instructions to find the ECU at Jimmy Pribble's site (www.UrS4.com) but it seems to be down. So as and added treat, please visit Ned Ritchie's website at:

Be careful with the knowledge you gain.
