and basically it was representing atmospheric pressure.
There's a valve/solenoid thingy on the firewall basically behind where the fuel rail is.
since i DON'T have a BENTLEY I can't tell you what this thing is, but just that my car is back to being only a little fvcked up =P

i think that stupuid *** thing is the moisture condensor, damn hose comes off mine all the damn time.

Put a real hose clamp on it sooner than later- moisture can and will kill the pressure sensor....
BTDT on my 93. I'm not sure how long it was off, but the pressure sensor was dead by the time I got it reconnected.

If its black and looks like a 35 mm film can, thats the moisture trap. NOoB.
The Bentley wouldn't have helped you. But any of us here in Vancouver with S4s would have found that in a second. It happens to ALL S4s (IME) at some point. Buy the smallest gear clamp you can get at a NAPA or AutoPro or CTC and replace both the inlet and outlet OE clamps on the moisture trap hoses.

Rob...you need to do some reading. I'll send you something. The pressure sensor is the ....
MAP, i.e. manifold air pressure sensor. Yours would have had a 2.5 Bar sensor originally, chipped you may have a 3.0 Bar sensor or a VMAP. Its the feed back for the computer so it knows what the level of boost is. The computer uses that signal (and a few others like RPM, throttle position, O2 sensor, temp, etc. to decide what the timing and fuel and boost (via the WGFV) need to be set at.

oh see. So the can is just the moisture trap for that line.. yea, I got a 3.0bar VMAP.. so the
outlet from the "film can" is the green plastic line that ends up in the ECU.
cool, it's all starting to make sense.
a BENTLEY sure would be nice though
