Last year for GW (1991), and while I loved this truck (THE party machine in college), it drove me to the friggen poor house 12 + years ago in gas, I can't imagine driving the contact paper covered pig today. These things are selling for $25K restored?!?! WTF, I could barely give mine away in sweet condition.
It's always weird seeing someone else driving your car. I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting pretty interested in what the future is going to present for decent power / mileage rigs.
Sorry random post, it just made my wallet hurt watching the guy get on it out of every light.
Audi content: Maybe I should put a hood orniment and some wood contact paper on the S car.. ;-)

Wagonmaster is getting big bucks for those these days, especially the '91 Final Editions
they're all the rage out on Nantucket...which is cool. when I was a kid it was all CJ-7s and Wagoneers out there. Lately it's gotten to be mostly Range Rovers and X5s. Cool to see the Jeeps being brought back to life.

I almost bought one myself, but got this instead...

Toyota's version of Nogaro Blue ; )
5 speed that got about 12mpg with a strong tailwind.

Hah, buddy of mine had an 88
The we plowed residentials with.. For a 360 it sure was a dog..
Though we did mount a bronze small (8 inches tall) elk on the roof for fun and called it the grand elk-on-eer for a while..
Yeah fuel seems to be eating away 10% of our month expensise lately with no end in sight.. With the spring/summer months coming it will go higher too as we get out to see family and friends a lot more plus my racing.. It may be time to let the diesel truck go and down size to a car and trailer..

The 1991 is the year to have on those.. 5.9 liter was a gas hog!!...
But Schroeder, it seems like Audis aren't the only cars we share a common likeness of. I too had a Grand Wagoneer (very short period of time though). I've had two XJ's (Cherokees). I'd love an old Wrangler or CJ, and I need to get rid of my Land Rover and get myself a V8 Grand Cherokee.
My favorite was my 1987 Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with a 5 speed manual transmission (made by Peugot of all things) and factory off-road package (Bilstien HD's and HD springs, tow hooks, skid plates, etc). Affectionately nicknamed "ski bitch". My friend bought it from me and drives it almost daily now. I think it has something like 240k miles on it.

Have you ever met Leon, the "Wagonmaster"?

http://www.wagonmasters.com/</a

Now theres a car I would never have guessed would become so collectable
Actually they are kind cool in a retro sort of way. But for the money and ****ty fuel economy I would rather have a original Blazer with the removable hardtop.
