Turbo and exhaust manifold glowing red
On the way home last night on a long freeway stretch, I was playing with a new IS 350 and when I got home I popped the hood to let the engine cool and saw the turbo and exhaust manifold glowing red.
I was not surprised, but this is the first time I actually saw it. I let the car idle for 5 minutes to let the oil cool and turbo cool.
The IS 350 is a pretty quick car, and my turbo lag did not do me any favours, but once I got in front of him, I managed to pull away and I left him after 230-240 km/hr. I think they are speed limited to 227 km/hr.
