Default Coil packs

So I want to upgrade my ignition system but there are many options out there, some cheaper than others. I noticed that both 034 and efi express have an "updated " kit and a "performance" kit. Anyone recommend just going for the updated kits .It is at least $100 cheaper if not more than there performance kits. It's not like I'm trying to get 500hp out of my car either(I wish). Right now I believe my car has a 2bennett chip and a gt28rs turbo with my only other future upgrade to be the exhaust system(I hope). Any thoughts?

Didn't realize there were 2 kits from EFI, but I installed this one a year or two ago. Was ~$425 and simple to install.

I was all stock plus a MTM stage 1+ chip. S6 is driving better than ever. Check your plugs. I'm sure 034 makes a good product too.

Okay. Yeah there other kit is $355 so I guess the ls2 isn't that much more. Yeah my plugs are good. My Pos is failing , I have a hard hesitation at higher RPMs at wot. already had to use the spare channel, which did improve acceleration. don't know how long that will last though.

You should be considering this coil kit purchase as a replacement. It is only an "upgrade" because your original system is failing, so anything that works is better.

You are harping on the POS-a $75 part-where is the balance in your thinking? Your problem is probably coils rather than POS, so that will bring the cost analysis into more balance, especially when you consider the difficulty in troubleshooting which coil is failing rather than changing all 5 oem coils at a little over $100 each.

You need to do some mechanic work and troubleshooting on the vehicle rather than believing the internet can solve all your woes.

That's true the symptoms are more closer to that of a failing coil than POS. Anyways you're right, I should be trouble shooting more but it's hard when you don't have all the necessary tools to do it. Thanks for your input

Go to the diagram linked below and click on the N122 and N127 POS label and then look for the detailed POS diagnostic label. It should help you sort out your issue(s). (All the other labels are hot links as well so you might want to bookmark the link to the diagram for future reference)
