S6 vacuum concerns
I have a 95 s6. Turbo set up is all stock. 221k on it. I've got a boost gauge. Full throttle I can get it up to 17-18psi and it holds their. At idle how ever it shows only 11-12 "HG. I know that doesn't seem right should be closer to 17"? Wondering what possible problems might be.

If we assume your car was built in '94, that means all the vacuum lines have baked in the underhood temperatures for about 19 years. That is well beyond any life expectation the engineers had when building the vehicle. Someone doing repairs on other systems may have pushed these old, brittle hoses out of the way, cracking several of them or the plastic nipples they attach to.
You can use something like a Mityvac to test sections of the tubing, but It is probably just as good a plan to change all the hoses and then test the vacuum/pressure in the lines.
It is also possible that the engine needs a little valve work.

The motor seems good. It's got 150psi in all 5 cylinders. I'm thinking my hose from the maf to the turbo is te cause. The other day I noticed it looked split along the endge of the clamp on the turbo. When I smoke tested it that was the only leak I saw. Thinking about just replacing all the vacuum lines for good measure tho.
