Default Post Track Soft Pedal Fix...

Gents..here is a post from the S-Cars mailing list on my solution to post-tracking of the car brake fade/soft pedal:

Mark,
My thoughts exactly ;-)

Per the suggestion of Porterfield..I just sanded down the pads with some 60 Grit Sandpaper in a figure-8 motion on a sheet of plexi-glass (flat surface) to remove the glazing on the pads...just got back from a test drive and she feels MUCH better..just like it was before my track event. Thanks to everyone who helped out with suggestions and comments...I figured the sanding was worth a shot ;-)

Here are the pics:
Notice the glazing on the pads:

Rotors Looked Good:

On a side note..here is what you can do w/ a wirebrush some and wet steelwool (SOS pad+rinse)on your valve cover...thx to Bob McKenna for the suggestion:

Cody,

Based on your explanations, I'd guess that you glazed the pads and
rotor surface pretty damn well. I'd suggest taking a fine emory cloth
to both surfaces (pad & rotor) before bothering to scrap either --
removing the glaze from the brake rotors and the pads will permit a new
friction interface to build properly. Don't expect that merely sanding
them will immediately fix it -- it will take 10 - 15 miles for sintered
or semi-metallic pads to redeposit the needed amount of friction
material onto the rotor surface before it wants to work at 100%. You
can always opt for new pads & rotor resurfacing afterwards if you still
need to.

Gents,
So for the 1st time on Wednesday night I tracked my car. In the last week I changed my pads from the Mintex Reds to Porterfield R4-S. Well during the track time I would see the brake light come on and eventually go off after the brakes cooled a bit. The brakes felt better and better as I went on during the day.

However now driving my car they feel "softer" meaning takes more pressure to stop the car then before. They dont feel weak but softer. (ECS Stage II)

Brake Accumulator (The Bomb)?

Normal? Something Not right?

Here is me Apex'ing early:
