Is it possible to connect factory CD changer to aftermarket deck?
I visited an electronics store for some advice on car stereos, and since i have a factory cd changer in the trunk, i though i'd just need a stereo deck with CD controls, and not an actual cd player. But the lady in the store told me there is absolutely no way of hooking up the two things, i'd have to get a new cd changer, is this true, because i really dont think it is.

You'll have to get a new changer.
If its an UrS4, the changer is a Sony, but its old style controls and the signal is fed thru an audi-specific transciever anyways. The ONLY way to run your factory changer with an aftermarket (and it would have to be an old sony) deck would be to run new wiring direct from the changer to a positively ancient (10 year old) sony deck, which will be next to impossible to find. IMHO you're better off selling your factory changer and transciever and using the money towards a new system. And this whole ball of wax that I'm talkin about here doesnt even include re-wiring your car for a new stereo. Have fun
