I think its important for both radiator efficiency and it also helps a lot to keep the engine clean.

Default I had to replace mine the first day I bought the car
The PO didn't have it attached properly so my top speed run on the way home from buying the car resulted in the front dropping down onto the pavement at 135mph. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go any faster until I pulled off at the next exit and heard the draging. 1/2 the pan was ground away.

Me. Always. For the same reasons as Marc S. Plus for OE intercoolers they need it to work.

Sorting small boost leak and oil seepage of course it's been off for 5 months now but it will get put back on!
