Hesitation and Stalling issue
I am running into a hesitation and stalling issue. I was driving down the hwy and my car (95.5 S6) lost power and when I got it over to the side it would just barley turn on, just shut off right away. The longer I would wait between tries the closer it would get to turning on. After we towed it to the shop we reached a conclusion that it had to be something in the wiring to the fuel pump or the fuel pump. So we replaced the fuel pump and it seemed to fix the problem but now it has stalled a couple more times but it will always start back up right after it dies. If I pull it out of gear when I feel it hesitating I can normally save it from stalling. Also before the drama I had noticed that under accerlation that the car would hesitate but this could be a seperate issue. Any suggestions would be great.

Could be the Mass Air Flow Sensor or the Cam Position Sensor. You need to
do some reading:
G70 MAF info
G40 Cam Position info
You should also start by pulling the codes as per SJM Autotechnik:
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl...f20v.html#fcs4
G40 Cam Sensor is 2113
G70 MAF sensor is 2324
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl...g/20vcodes.htm
Next time the engine stops like that, try pouring cold water down behind the cam belt cover. The cam sensor might be too hot and the water cools it down. Solution is to replace the cam sensor (follow the links to the DIY in the G40 link above)

MAF Update
Ok this is what has transpired since my last reply. I read all the articles and it seemed like it was the MAF. So I came to the conclusion that I should try and clean my cone filter (K&N) and the MAF. Since then it has run like normal. So thanks for all the help.
I do still have a slight hesitation when I am in the higher RPMs and under heavy acceleration. I have a new cross over and Samco hoses so I do not think it is a vacuum leak and suggestions on the issues?

MAF problems are sometimes connected to over-oiling "washable" K&N filters.
Missing/hesitation at high RPMs/Boost levels is usually a coil problem. However, check your plugs for tightness (22 lb ft), and the condition of the plug to coil boots. If you look you can find the boot connectors for about $5 each.
