Default Need some help with codes.....

I'm trying to determine if my car has thrown any codes as it's not running as well as it has in the past. I'm trying to use the technique described in the following link but I can't find the wires that I need to bridge. My car is a 95.5, did they change the position of them or tuck them way up under the drivers side dash? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.<ul><li><a href="http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/ecuf20v.html#fault">http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/ecuf20v.html#fault</a</li></ul>

Default Open the hood, and there should be a box

on the driver's side of the aft side of the fire wall (just in front of the steering wheel in the engine bay). A metal clip holds a plastic housing over a fuse/relay panel. Slide the clip and remove the housing. You'll see a black terminal and a white terminal on the engine side of the passenger side of the box. You want to connect the black one nearest the front of the car and the white one nearest the front of the car. You'll likely want a long, 5 ft piece of wire so you can do it from the driver's seat.

I think you're looking at the diagram for the 91 200 20vt, not our cars (of which there is no diagram!).

If you have a VAG COM, you can wire an "ugly wire" or just buy the adapter from Ross Tech.<ul><li><a href="http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/ecuf20v.html#fcs4">http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/ecuf20v.html#fcs4</a></li></ul>
