MTM/Hoppen chip

MTM/Hoppen chip
Hello, I just bought a S6 and am about to start do some upgrades. First thing is the boost gauge and possibly a boost controller. I am curious what is the max safe boost I can run with this chip? I am also going to adjust the waste gate. The car feel kind of slow and I know the S6 can make some power. thanks Sam

The chip is programmed to regulate max boost.
MTM 1+ is programmed for about 22 psi with the 3.0 bar pressure transducer. This will make 270 HP/310 ft-lbs of torque.
The MTM 1 with 2.5 bar PT make the same HP, but less torque (280 ft/lbs).
A boost gauge is good idea, but a boost controller is not.

Wastegate controlled electronically... According to Hoppen, you don't need to do anything...
But have the chipset installed. You don't need to crank down on the wastegate or use of any controllers.
If you want a boost guage, the only way to go is the TDS-1, IMHO.
The recent updates allow scalability down the road as your car gets faster. For now you can plug in and see Peak/Hold boost, IAT, and there are other modules you can add later to display wideband O2 (Air/Fuel), and fuel pressure monitoring.
This all works out of one neat control box that's hidden and will display these values on the stock AutoCheck screen.

TDS-1 Boost Display (034Motorsport)

It *can* be controlled by a MBC, but not recommended as it takes
all the sensors out of the equation when calculating boost such as intake air temp, ambient pressure.
Boost is controlled electronically by the ECU which sends a signal to the waste gate frequency vavle, which uses vacuum/boost to open/close the wastegate.

Waste gate frequency valve = boost control solenoid. See FAQ link inside
