Default Keyless entry failed - on my 95.5 - it's not the remotes...

The remote locking/unlock feature suddenly quit on my 95.5 sedan. It's not the remotes (they still sync with my avant). The central locking and alam still seems to be functional...

Ideas on where to start my search? The bently is very thin in this area. And a search of audifans and AW was little help as well.
Is there a specific relay just for the remote function? and where is it?
any BTDT?

Default There is an RF box under the left passenger seat.

More than that I don't know.

Default How does one know that the RF remote is actually sending a signal, i.e. if one puts a new battery...

in the remote and tries the various methods of syncing the locks to the RF remote but none work, how does one know it isn't the remote itself?

Is there a radio frequency test procedure like using a digital movie camera to "see" the infra red light from the older IR remote?

What channel do I tune to?

<kidding>

Sort of.

Default not sure - I have the advantage of owning 2 95.5's so can just swap parts. In my case the remotes

sync with the avant but not the sedan... yesterday everything worked.

Default Did you try reprogramming?

Throw the key in the ignition, switch the acc on, and hold both buttons for ~15 seconds. Has worked for Fruity in the past.

Default You mean, passenger rear seat, right??

Should be somewhere over by the battery.

Default Er, yeah. Oops. Left passenger = behind driver :)

It's on the opposite side of the car from the battery.
