I've noticed a tick-tick sound upon cold start-up and new right away it was
an exhaust leak. Turned out to be a small leak between the exhaust manifold and the head.
Upon closer inpection, noticed that 3 of the nuts were loose. Tightened them up and it seems to be OK.
Any chance the gasket is ruined? Or worse, a warped manifold?

highly doubt the manifold is warped. but the gasket has most likely been compromised
since there was an area for air to escape its super high velocity so it usually messes up the gasket.
My rs2 mani would do this walk 2 of the nuts off all the time just torque them down and see if it comes back?

Sue your mechanic for shoddy work!!! Oh, wait...
it was you.
And I think you do great work. I guess things can work themselves loose.
Now I have to go check my manifold nuts.
Okay, tomorrow.

If you don't mind the way it looks and depending upon which nuts they are...
I used to put (2) locking washers on 1 or 2 of my exhaust manifold studs when I had my RS2 manifold to prevent them from loosening up on me...sounds a little messed up, but hey, whatever works...
